Mary joined the Wakefields Lawyers team in 2026 and has quickly become a valued member of the firm. She completed a conjoint LLB/BA (Criminology) in 2003 and began her legal career in New Zealand, gaining experience across a broad range of matters including residential and commercial property, relationship property, estate administration, and commercial and contract law. In 2008, Mary relocated to England, where she provided in-house legal advice to nonprofit organisations. In this role, she worked closely with stakeholders to deliver clear, practical guidance within resource-constrained environments. Following a period overseas focused on family commitments, Mary has returned to New Zealand and to legal practice. Mary brings a thoughtful, solutions-focused approach to her work and is committed to providing practical, efficient advice that aligns with her clients’ real-world objectives. Outside of work, Mary enjoys spending time with family and friends, strong coffee, a good book, and being by the sea.
