Emma joined Wakefields Lawyers in 2026 and has quickly become a valued member of the firm. She completed her LLB at Te Herenga Waka Victoria University of Wellington in 2025 and was admitted to the Bar later that year. Emma brings a strong passion for helping people and is committed to providing a client-focused, supportive experience. Prior to studying law, she completed a BA (Hons) in Sociology at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2002 and went on to work as an Insurance Broker for over 15 years. In that role, she developed a deep understanding of client advocacy and the importance of clear, practical guidance - skills she now brings to her legal practice. Emma was born in New Plymouth and spent her formative years both there and in Wakefield in the United Kingdom, giving her a broad perspective and appreciation for community. Outside of work, Emma is an active member of the Wellington Women Lawyers’ Association and serves on her church vestry. She enjoys spending time with her four children, keeping active at the gym, and expressing her creativity through baking and crochet.
