Elizabeth Hughes

Senior Solicitor

Elizabeth Hughes joined Wakefields Lawyers in 2024 and quickly became an integral part of the team. She graduated from Victoria University of Wellington with a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Development Studies, and was admitted to the legal profession in 2023. Since joining the firm, Elizabeth has gained experience across a wide range of private client matters. She particularly enjoys assisting with residential property transactions, advising first-home buyers, supporting clients with refinancing, navigating company-share conveyancing, and working on off-the-plan developments. Elizabeth also acts for commercial clients, providing advice on sales, purchases and lease arrangements. Elizabeth’s work further extends into litigation, where she has contributed to a variety of civil matters as an active member of the litigation team. She is passionate about building trusted client relationships and is committed to delivering clear, pragmatic legal advice. Her areas of interest span property, corporate and commercial matters, trusts and succession planning, relationship property, and civil litigation. Outside of her work as a Solicitor, Elizabeth enjoys watching sports with her family and is a dedicated member of her social football team. On weekends, she can often be found walking along Paraparaumu Beach with her family dog, Bruno, or enjoying live music with friends.
